Tony’s songwriting covers many styles and genres of music -- R&B, Reggae, Blues, Jazz, Soul, Folk, Latin, Funk, Ska, Country, Fusion, Blue Beat. His original lyrics speak to the experiences of being human -- the dreams, thoughts, beliefs, struggles, joys, spirituality, and emotions drawn up from the soul in expressions that form a common bond with people. The music and the rhythms are the conduit that draws us together and conveys the powerful message of the words and insights.
Tony Brown’s artwork is an original expression of imagination, realism, primitive folk art and abstract design. He loves the use of vibrant colors and dynamic images. The art has a spiritual connection, often incorporating images of village life in harmony with natural surroundings. As with his music, he conveys a message of human connection and shared experience through shapes, colors and motion within stillness and feelings. His art is a journey into deeper dimensions and expressions of what it is to be living on this earth and gives clues as to how we might heal ourselves and the world.
Tony Brown performs as a solo artist, with a bassist as a duo, and also performs with a full production concert band.
Tony’s vocals climb and drop to the rhythm and the emotional requirements to release the inspirations of the message of the song. His guitar playing is about “pure” rhythm to whatever thickness, velocity and volume necessary to get the groove embedded into the listener’s soul. All of Tony’s performances are electric, passionate, emotional, exciting and highly entertaining. A upful spirit flows through and within his music.
